Will AT&T Sell The iPad?

Boy Genius Reports have heard word that AT&T might be selling the iPad in their stores, when it arrives. Since Ma Bell is the official 3G supporter of the device in the USA, this is hardly a surprising move. According to BGR’s sources, the iPads will be sold at built-in displays in-store, taking space away from netbooks, saying “We’re told that the general plan is to convert one or two existing netbook display sections in each corporate AT&T location into a pretty substantial iPad display area.”

Some think that this might be an indication of the iPad’s strength against netbooks, and the possible slowdown of the micro-laptops sales. I’m more of the opinion that it would be extremely short-sighted of AT&T not too sell the devices directly if possible. As much as they bitch about the iPhone users, they know that we’re a major source of revenue, something which they’re sure to try and expand with the iPad.

If you don’t feel like giving AT&T any more of your money, why not enter our competition to win an iPad in April? Details here.
