Unreal 3 Ported To iPhone
It would only work on the iPhone 3Gs and 3rd generation iPod Touches due to the GPL requirements, but Epic has modded the Unreal 3 engine to work on the iPod and iPhone. The control scheme looks like a variation of the two-thumbstick model usually seen on console games, and used in ngmoco’s Eliminate.
Epic say they have no intention of moving into the iPhone market or licensing the refined engine, and that this was merely a tech demo as a way of trying to slim down the engine. Still, that’s damn freaking cool, as Unreal Engine is a major part of the gaming landscape.
