The Tablet We’ll Never See (But Would Be Damned Cool)

Freelance designer Tim Van Damme has put together a wonderful argument for his ideal tablet, and I’ve got to admit, it’s a tempting proposition. He’s imagining a tablet that could slot into an iMac case with additional hardware to create a desktop, or a laptop body, or just be used as a tablet. As he freely admits, it’s something we’d never see. But I’m a sucker for modular design, and the ability to have convertible levels of power like that would be incredibly cool!

I just want to throw my tablet into an iMac shell, get a massive speed boost, throw it on a laptop base and get longer batteries, and then just carry it as the tablet for ultimate portability. Stuff of dreams.
