Puerto Rico Not American Enough For Free iPhone Cases
According to Consumerist, Puerto Ricans do not qualify for the free iPhone 4 cases, even though Apple already promised them to the territory, and their inhabitants are American. Users on the islands are covered as part of AT&T’s standard coverage, and buy the phone normally, and they were contacted by Apple saying that they were eligible for free cases. However, orders for the cases were cancelled as Apple won’t ship to international locations — even though USPS will ship there for exactly the same prices as anywhere on the mainland.
All in all, kind of sucky for the Puerto Ricans, especially as Apple initially contacted them to say they were eligible. Anyone from around there in our readership? Care to comment on the situation?
