O2 In Talks For iPad UK 3G

Word is that UK telecom O2 is in talks with Apple over providing the 3G connection for the iPad in the UK. This report comes from CityA.M., who also say that this will most likely not be an exclusive arrangement like the iPhone originally was, but that the iPad will launch with multiple 3G carriers. At this juncture, it’s not known how much the UK data plans will come to cost.

O2 was the original iPhone seller in the UK, when they gained the initial exclusive arrangement with Apple, selling a reported 2 million devices.

The iPad is expected to debut in the UK in March for the wi-fi only version, and April for 3G.
