Morning Tablet Rumors
Settle yourself down with a nice cup of hot whatever-you-drink, and avoid starting work for a few more minutes, while browsing some of the tablet rumors that have popped up.
- The NYT discusses the hopes around the tablet. They’re saying the hopes and dreams of print media hinge on this device. They would know. They’re also saying 3G and all iPhone apps will run on the tablet.
- Scrollmotion, who make the Iceberg reading software for the iPhone, are avoiding questions about their involvement on the tablet. This leads some to think they have something to hide, and Apple has brought them in for the new hardware.
- A German tweet popped up this morning, attributed to German electronics store Media Markt, saying that the tablet would go for 499 Euro with contract, 899 Euro without, and would be available March 1. However, Media Markt has since announced that the company doesn’t have a twitter account, so the whole thing was a hoax.

- Will the tablet be revolutionary because of its simplicity? Some are hoping so.
- Appcelerator surveyed a number of iPhone app devs, and—unsurprisingly—more than 90% want to develop for the tablet too.
- Finally, on a lighter note…what if Steve Jobs gave the State of the Union Address?
Only 28 hours to go! Are you excited yet?
