Lala Closes, Will iTunes.com Rise From Its Ashes?
Last night, Apple owned music streaming service Lala, finally closed its doors for good. We’ve known this was coming for a while, and now it’s gone. Apparently, some of the content is still accessible through MySpace Music, GrooveShark, and HypeMachine.
Now we wait to see if iTunes.com will come along, and pick up what Lala left behind. There are rumors floating about that next week’s WWDC will see the unveiling of a cloud based, music streaming, iTunes. Since Apple purchased Lala, the weight of supposition has been leaning towards Apple using the company in order to pull iTunes into the cloud. Now we just have to see when and if it will happen.
