Kevin Rose, the grand high poobah of Digg, was so taken by the Square POS system, that he decided to invest in the product. Here he is demoing an early version of it, and you can see just how portably and useful it might be.

I cannot wait for this sort of thing to spread to Farmer’s Markets and little eclectic shops. Onwards to a cashless society! The only questions that I’m worried about are the stability of the Square peripheral (you can see Kevin stabilizing it as he swipes) and how deadly the bank fees will be on it.
