Google Navigation To Come To iPhone? [updated]
Google Navigation is a free app on all Android phones which has an impressive list of features, usually found on paid GPS apps. Turn by turn navigation, live traffic updates, search along route, frequently updated maps, etc. It’s a killer piece of software given the price point — and one that we can’t get on the iPhone. Hopefully, that’ll be changing now!
According to Mac User UK Google is planning to bring the service to the UK, and to all mobile platforms. They say:
Google confirmed at a London press conference that it plans to bring free satnav to other smartphone platforms, including the iPhone, although it wouldn’t say when.
Now, lets all hope that this isn’t a repeat of the Google Voice debacle!
Update: Google is saying that their remarks were misquoted. Google contacted PC World, and said:
We did not say we would bring it to iPhone, we said to date we’ve had it on Android and that in the future it may come to other platforms but did not confirm this will be coming to iPhone at all.
So much for that theory.
