German iPad Deals Hint At Both Contract-Free and Subsidized Models

According to Cult of Mac, when the iPad launches in Germany, there will data plans from at least three providers — which may give hints about how the rest of Europe, and the world, will deal with the device.

Previously Apple partnered with T-Mobile to provide official launch coverage of the iPhone, but are making E-Plus their chosen carrier for the iPad. E-Plus is being billed as an “exclusive iPad 3G partner”, with a month-to-month, contract free data plan like AT&T will provide in the USA.

T-Mobile, on the other hand, will go a route that we see with the iPhone, and offer the a discount on the device with a signed contract.

Vodafone will also carry the device, but haven’t announced any plans. It’s theorized that since they are not an “exclusive iPad 3G partner”, they will also offer a contract based service.
