First Mag+ Magazine Launches, With Popular Science+

Mag+ impressed us immensely late last year, and after working with Popular Science for the last few months, you can now get Popular Science+ from the App Store, with the April issue setting you back $4.99, and later issues can be bought directly from within the app, or via the store.

The Mag+ concept was one that really grabbed our attention, due to its innovative layout techniques. Articles are presented in a left-right continuum, and you scroll down to read individual pieces. It’s still missing a few features, like text search, but it sounds like that will roll out soon.

This is the sort of content everyone was hoping would come with magazines to the iPad, and it’s incredibly heartening to see this go beyond the concept stage, and on to a real product.
