Dragon Dictation Brings Speech-To-Text to the iPhone

Nuance Communication, makers of renowned desktop speech-to-text tools, have brought their tools to your pocket, with Dragon Dictation (free, iTunes link). The app takes spoken word, and transforms it into text, which can be emailed, SMSed, or saved to the clipboard to be pasted into a doc of your choice. This could be invaluable for people with limited hand mobility, or on the road, when you should be keeping your eyes ahead.
According to early reports, it’s not without flaws. It can only handle a sentence or two at a time, as they have to be transmitted to Nuance, analysed, then sent back–which also means it needs a connection to work. The app also has a habit of censoring obscenities, which is a rather saddening design decision.
