Blacksn0w Enables Tethering on iPhone 3G/3GS

While we wait for the official tethering from AT&T, it appears that Blacksn0w brought more than just carrier unlocking goodness today. With the use of Blacksn0w, you can also activate unauthorized tethering using iPhone OS 3.1.2. We in no way are recommending and/or suggesting you go this route. AT&T will likely be contacting Cupertino for a software update pronto that disables all the hard work of Geohot, the enterprising young gentleman who develops all this crazy software.

The usual disclaimers in tow (if AT&T finds out your tethering, you’ll likely have some explaining to do along with  pretty earthshattering data charges), Mobile Crunch has a tutorial on how to enable tethering on an iPhone 3G or 3GS running 3.1.2.

Let’s hope this encourages AT&T to announce official support in the near term and let’s make it affordable.
