AT&T Calls Fake Steve Jobs “Irresponsible”
In response to Fake Steve Jobs’ “Operation Chokehold“, a call to overload AT&T’s already sluggish network, an AT&T spokesman called the move an irresponsible ploy to drive traffic to the blog. Fake Steve’s plan was to get users around the country to run data heavy apps for an hour on Friday, in an attempt to bring AT&T to its knees, and force it to pay attention to its network woes. In response, AT&T have said
“We understand that fakesteve.net is primarily a satirical forum, but there is nothing amusing about advocating that customers attempt to deliberately degrade service on a network that provides critical communications services for more than 80 million customers. We know that the vast majority of customers will see this action for what it is: an irresponsible and pointless scheme to draw attention to a blog.”
AT&T came out against someone trying to sabotage their network? How shocking and surprising!
