Apple To Redeploy DRM With iBooks
According to the LA Times, Apple is all set to resurrect its FairPlay DRM system, which previously was part of iTunes MP3s. The copy protection scheme limits how many times a file can be moved to different computers/devices. Apple removed FairPlay from their MP3s in 2009, and now sell the files free of restrictions.

It sounds as though publishers will be able to decide if they want the DRM included or not, which allows companies less terrified of piracy to avoid the whole mess. Because, let’s face it, there will never be a form of DRM that is uncrackable.
As it stands, we can only hope that Apple learned from the debate prompted by iTunes DRM, and will remove them after the marketplace gains strength.
Don’t forget, we’re giving away a free iPad this April! Check out the details here.
