Apple Pushing For Lower Price iTunes TV

itunes-tv

BusinessWeek is reporting that Jobs has gone to the television networks, in order to get them to lower their prices on the eve of the tablet launch. Apparently Apple is trying to lower the cost for a show from $1.99 down to only $0.99, which they think will provide a massive boost to sales. Following on from this, most season passes will go for around $22.

Unsurprisingly, the networks aren’t too thrilled over the possibility, as it would mean the possibility of lost profits for them. Apparently, in 2003 when Apple rolled out $0.99 songs, downloads increased, but not by enough to offset the loss that the price drop caused.
