Apple Planning Major iTunes Cloud Changes? Wireless Syncing Ahead?

Boy Genius Report (who tend to have pretty good contacts) have received word of a major shake up for iTunes in the works. According to their source, iTunes is heading towards the cloud in a major way, and there will be three major pushes:

  1. Streaming music and movies from Apple’s servers to your computers, devices, etc.
  2. Streaming music and movies from your home computers to your other computers, remote devices, etc.
  3. Wireless iTunes syncing with devices
So, anywhere you go, on any wireless device, you’ll be able to stream directly from Apple, and from your own home computer. Wireless syncing will apply to apps, calendars, notes, and contacts. No word on music, though.
Their contact also said Apple will be releasing “two new devices with camera/camcorder capabilities.” In other words, an iPod and an iPod Touch with those capabilities, and adding Wi-Fi to the non-touch iPod.
If these rumors are true, then they’ll probably be announced during Apple’s Fall event.
Rumors of iTunes going to the cloud have been kicking around since Apple picked up Lala in December 2009, and were boosted with the addition of browser based iTunes Store.
